Samba from York! Born out of a fusion of Mendigo Surdo (a samba band from the University of York) and students from York St. John University and York College.

Samba York learned the ropes by playing various charity events in and around York. Over the years, the band has developed a committed member base and written an extensive collection of pieces.

Samba York were recently employed as the official band of the 'Welcome to Yorkshire' tourist board, which has led to performances at prestigious events all over the Yorkshire area.
